John Curtis Oster
 

 

John Curtis Oster was born October 13, 1936 in Gordon, Nebraska. He graduated from Gordon High School in 1954 and Chadron, NE, State College in 1959. He taught English literature and social science at Rock County High School in Bassett, NE, for three years and for seven years worked as reporter and then managing editor for the Scottsbluff, NE, Star-Herald. He then studied journalism at the graduate level at the University of Missouri-Columbia while editing the Kingdom Daily News in Callaway County, MO.. For the next 24 years he worked as an editor at the Church of the Nazarene International Headquarters in Kansas City, MO. He now hosts a website called the World Heritage Journal at www.liberty-christian.net

 He and his wife, Dee, live in Monticello, KS. They have three sons, all involved professionally in Christian ministry.John is bus and compassionate ministries pastor at College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe, KS; Jeff is worship pastor of the Corvallis, OR, Church of the Nazarene, and Joel is an attorney with the Alliance Defense Fund headquartered in Scottsdale, AR. Dee’s father, Rev. Wendell Buttermore was a Wesleyan Methodist church planter in Scottsbluff, NE.
